PJNET is an independent directory and editorial guide to places, businesses and services in and around Petaling Jaya. These Terms of Use explain the basis on which we provide this website. 1. Using PJNET
These terms apply to your use of PJNET and content you submit to us, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree with them, please stop using the website. Any separately agreed advertising or service contract governs that service where its terms conflict with these general website terms. Browsing the website does not itself provide consent to optional marketing or unnecessary tracking.
2. Independent listings and no affiliation
Unless expressly stated otherwise, PJNET is not the owner, operator, agent or authorised representative of any listed venue, brand or service. A listing, photograph, logo, resource link or mention does not mean the business has approved the listing, paid for it, partnered with PJNET or endorsed PJNET. Similarly, inclusion does not amount to our certification, accreditation, recommendation or guarantee of that business.
We are not a booking agent, retailer or party to transactions you arrange with a listed business. The relevant provider is responsible for its products, services, pricing, bookings, payments, cancellations, refunds, warranties, safety and legal compliance. Please raise transaction disputes directly with that provider. This does not exclude responsibility for PJNET’s own acts where the law imposes it.
3. Verify information before relying on it
Listings and editorial content may be prepared from publicly available information, submissions and other sources. We aim to present useful information, but do not independently verify every statement or monitor every business continuously. Information may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate, and businesses may move, close or change their services without notice to us.
Please independently confirm the exact branch, address, opening hours, prices, availability, booking conditions, accessibility, facilities and contact details directly with the venue before travelling, booking or paying. Verify licences, credentials, dietary or halal certifications, ingredients and allergen handling with the relevant business or authority. A category label or description is not a safety assessment, certification or professional opinion.
Maps, suggested routes, travel times and location markers are indicative only. Check the destination, conditions and local restrictions yourself. Property, health, legal, financial and other specialist information is general information, not personalised professional advice. Obtain advice from an appropriately qualified professional when needed.
4. Third-party names, brands, logos and images
Third-party business names, trademarks, logos, trade dress, photographs and other materials belong to their respective owners or rights holders. PJNET does not claim ownership of them. References to those materials are used to identify or discuss the relevant places or services; they do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation or a licence granted to visitors.
Some visuals may be illustrative, digitally edited or AI-generated and may not show a venue’s exact present appearance, people, products or facilities. Do not rely on a photograph as proof of a current offering. Rights notices and attribution do not replace any permission required by law. If you believe material infringes your rights, please use the reporting process below.
Original PJNET text, design and other materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may access them for lawful personal use and share links to our pages. Except where permitted by law or the relevant rights holder, you must not republish, sell, misrepresent ownership of or commercially reproduce our content or third-party materials.
5. External websites and resources
External websites, Google Maps, advertisers and resource providers operate independently and have their own terms and privacy practices. Links may change, be redirected or become unavailable. PJNET does not control their content, security, representations or services and does not guarantee that a linked website is suitable or safe. Check the identity of the provider and its terms before sharing information, downloading files or making payments. An “official website” label is an editorial identification, not a continuing guarantee of control, accuracy or security.
6. Business submissions and advertising
Submit accurate information only where you have authority to do so. You must have the necessary rights and permissions for any text, logos, photographs or personal details you supply. Do not submit confidential information, payment-card details, passwords or unnecessary sensitive personal data.
By submitting material specifically for publication, you grant PJNET a non-exclusive permission to reproduce, format, reasonably edit and display that material for the requested listing and operation of the directory, subject to applicable law and agreed restrictions. Private enquiry messages are not automatically licensed for public publication. We may request evidence, decline a submission, correct a listing or remove content. Submission does not guarantee publication, placement, ranking, traffic, enquiries or sales and creates no obligation to buy advertising.
7. Corrections, listing removal and rights complaints
To request a correction or removal of a listing, logo, photograph, personal information or other material, email hi@pjnet.com.my with the subject “Listing correction / removal” or “Rights complaint”. Please include:
- The exact PJNET page URL and the material concerned.
- Your name, reply email and relationship to the business, person or rights holder.
- The reason for your request and the correction or removal you are seeking.
- Reasonable supporting information showing the issue or your authority to act.
Please do not send identity documents or sensitive records unless requested through an appropriate process. We may ask for proportionate verification to prevent fraudulent requests. We will review requests and take action appropriate to the facts and applicable law, which may include correction, temporary restriction or removal. We cannot promise a particular outcome or fixed response time for every request. Where the law requires action within a particular period, that requirement applies. You do not need to waive legal rights to submit a complaint.
Changes to PJNET do not automatically remove copies held by search engines, archives or unrelated websites. Those services control their own copies. Privacy requests are also covered by our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable use
Do not use PJNET to submit unlawful, misleading, defamatory or infringing material, impersonate another person, send spam, collect personal details for unsolicited contact, interfere with the website or attempt unauthorised access. Do not bypass access controls or use automated requests in a way that disrupts the service. We may restrict access or remove submissions where reasonably necessary to protect users, the website or legal rights.
9. Availability, warranties and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its general information are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of uninterrupted access, complete accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or absence of errors or harmful components. We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the website.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PJNET excludes liability for errors, omissions, inaccurate or outdated information in its listings and editorial content, whether prepared by PJNET or supplied by others, and for loss or damage resulting from reliance on that information. Visitors are responsible for independently checking relevant information with the venue or provider before travelling, booking, purchasing or otherwise acting on it.
To that same extent, PJNET is not liable for direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss, wasted travel or expenses, lost profits, lost business opportunities or loss of data arising from use of or inability to use the website, third-party products or services, external websites or arrangements made directly with others. Publishing a listing or responding to a correction or removal request does not create a contractual guarantee of accuracy or a promise to reimburse costs, compensate a visitor or assume a third party’s obligations.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability, statutory duty, consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not excuse fraud or other conduct for which liability cannot legally be excluded. Your applicable legal rights remain available, and a disclaimer does not authorise infringement or unlawful processing of personal data.
10. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms as the website or legal requirements change. Please review this page periodically to stay informed of the terms that apply to your use of PJNET. Changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law and any necessary notice. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue so far as legally possible. A delay in exercising a right does not by itself waive it.
These terms are governed by Malaysian law, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to you. Disputes may be brought before the competent Malaysian courts or tribunals, without restricting any forum or remedy available under mandatory law.
