YOUR GUIDE TO PETALING JAYA

About Petaling Jaya

Practical information to help you make the most of Petaling Jaya.

Get to know PJ

Petaling Jaya began as a planned township in 1952 and received city status on 20 June 2006. Today, the most useful way to explore it is neighbourhood by neighbourhood. Start with one area, leave time for a meal and resist the temptation to cross the whole city in an afternoon.

Choose your first stop

Bandar Utama is a starting point for a shopping day. Mutiara Damansara brings together retail and dining destinations. SS2, Sea Park and the older PJ neighbourhoods offer a different introduction through their streets and food stops. Browse the neighbourhood directory to see the places currently covered.

PJ and its neighbours

This guide also includes selected nearby destinations. Subang Jaya and Bandar Sunway entries are identified separately where they are outside the PJ core; an appearance in this guide does not change their location.
