South of Section 8 is Section 51, a major industrial and business centre of PJ. Section 7 borders to the east and contains the major municipal buildings of PJ. Across Jalan Barat is Section 52 where more government buildings are located together with hotels such as the Hilton, Singgahsana, Shah Motel, Armada Hotel, Stamford and Rima college, Amcorp shopping Mall and Taman Jaya LRT.
Close by, across the Federal Highway, is the Tun Hussein Onn Eye Hospital, Asia Jaya LRT station and the Astaka Sports Centre. Also across the Federal Highway is Section 51A, which contains more businesses and industries.
There are excellent road links to the Federal Highway and major thoroughfares enable speedy access to all parts of PJ and beyond.
A special feature of Section 8 are the road names. The main arterial road is called Jalan Sungai Jernih. In Bahasa Malaysia "sungai" means river and the collector roads which 'flow' into Jalan Sungai Jernih are all named after river fish. Thus we have Jalans Patin, Lampan, Tilan, Torbul, Toman, Lemasa, Temelian, Jelawat, Tengas, Kelah. |
