Petaling Jaya Section 19

Section 19 is bisected by on a north/south axis by Sungei Penchala and is a mix of residential and commercial/industrial uses. Residential areas are located to northern section while industrial/commercial interests dominate the southern element where Section 19 abuts the prime business/industrial area, Section 13. The major landmarks are Manara Marais, Mango Jerry, Toyota, Rothmans and HandiMart. The residential component consists of 443 link houses and Jasmine Towers, a condominium development alongside Sungei Penchala.
The industrial sector is home to major national and multi-national companies such as Rothmans, Cold Storage and Federal Paper Products and is well situated to draw workers from the surrounding residential areas. This business/industry component complements Section 13, which borders to the east. Section 13 is the dominant business and corporate address in PJ and has good synergy with Section 19. It is home to many prestigious Malaysian and foreign businesses such as Colgate Palmolive, Dutch Baby Milk, Aluminium Company of Malaysia and Philips. In adjacent sectors there are mosques (Section 17, SS2), temples (Section 17) and schools (Section 17, SS2 and SS20). A few minutes drive away is the 1-Utama shopping centre as are Universiti Malaya and Universiti Hospital. Pocket parks can be accessed in SS2 and Section 17. The southern edges of Section 19 abuts the commercial and retail centre of SS2 and there is quick and direct linkage to Jaya Supermarket and Metro Jaya in Section 14. There is also easy access to Section 52 with its mix of local government agencies, retail mall and hotel uses.
There are good and speedy links to all parts of PJ, the Damasara Highway, Bangsar, Bandar Utama and 1-Utama, Kuala Lumpur and the Federal Highway and North/South Highway.
