Petaling Jaya Section 17

Section 17 abuts the Damansara Highway and forms part of the northern boundary of PJ. It is one of the largest residential sectors in PJ with a good mix of bungalow, link house, and apartment type accommodation. It is a favourite place for University Malaya students.

The major landmarks are Lisa De Inn hotel and a wet market. Section 17 is also known to many NGO's as the home for the Petaling Jaya Community Centre, a well established NGO involved in recycling and community activities. Across Jalan Universiti is the south is Section 13, the dominant business and corporate address in PJ and home to many prestigious Malaysian and foreign businesses such as Colgate Palmolive, Dutch Baby Milk, Aluminium Company of Malaysia and Philips. Other adjoining areas are residential with appropriate supporting facilities. Schools can be found adjacent in Section 17A and Section 19 and a short distance away in Section 12, Section 14 and SS2. Mosques are located in Section 14, Section 16 and SS2 and churches and temples in Section 19. Universiti Hospital is a short drive away as is the Universiti Malaya campus. Section 16 is adjacent to the LDP ensuring good road links to Damansara, Bangsar, Bandar Utama, Kuala Lumpur, the Federal Highway and 1-Utama. Section 16 is well connected to all parts of PJ.
