About the Event
This inaugural Brooks Fun Run is the first of a series of non-competitive fun run targeting at families, friends and colleagues who would want to participate in fun run in a relaxing natural environment. We have selected Forest Research Institute Malaysia, at Kepong as the venue because of the beautiful matured trees that would provide a very relaxing atmosphere away from the hectic city life.
We believe a fun run with your family or friends can be a healthy form of recreational activity to do on a Sunday morning, leading to a healthier lifestyle. We hope that through non-competitive events such as this, we can entice more individuals to start running as a sustainable form of exercise program to counter lifestyle diseases. The 5km route is charted within the compound of FRIM, relatively safe and away from the main highways, with shady trees. You could run, jog or walk the route, no hurry as it is non-competitive.
Gifts, Breakfast, Discount Voucher, Lucky Draw & Health Talk
At the end of the run, you would get a gift from Brooks (a pair of Brooks socks), a set of snack coupons and a 40% discount voucher to purchase Brooks shoes. You and your family could just picnic in the compound and enjoy the snacks provided. In addition, there will be a health talk by Dr. Mark B Reyneker a certified podiatrist, at the Official Tent on Foot Care.The event would end with a lucky draw with more Brooks products as prizes. It is value for money for RM10 registration fee per pax. Quality Brooks Fun Run souvenir T-shirts will be for sale to all participants at very attractive discounted rates.
Reporting
As this is a fun run, we have done away with the usual formal reporting. Just wear the single bib issued to you onto the front of your attire for identification and gather at the compound in front of the Terengganu House before 7.50am.
Program 7.00am – Arrival of runners at Terengganu House
7.50am – Briefing for participants
7.55am – Stretching Exercises
8.00am – Start of run
8.40am – Serving of light snacks
– Sale of Brooks products
9.15am – Talk by Dr. Mark B Reyneker on Foot Care
9.45am – Lucky Draw.
10.00am – End of event, free and easy for participants to explore various attractions of FRIM.
Getting There
Please follow the map below and look out for the green signage with yellow words, Institut Penyelidikan Perhutanan Malaysia. Please show your running bib to the security officers to gain free access for your car into the compound of FRIM. The venue (start) is at the compound in front of Terengganu House which is about 1.5km from the main entrance. Please follow the signages to the venue.

We suggest that you explore FRIM after the event. Among the attractions of FRIM are the Dipterocarp Arboretum, traditional houses, Sungei Kroh picnic area, canopy walkway, Bambusetum, Ethno-Botanic Garden, Keruing Natural Trail and Salleh Nature Trail.
