The power on/off switch is definitely on the TV itself. On my TV the vol and channel change functions are on the TV itself. This means that even if the remote was to die on me I can just use the controls on the TV itself. Just check out your TV carefully. The vol controls must be there on the TV.
The remote controls for sale in the market can be programmed to suit your TV.
