Woman sues former lover for not marrying her
By CHRISTINA KOH
IPOH: She claimed that she had sex with him 31 times on the belief that they were in love and would marry.
Nagamah: ‘I had a sexual relationship with him because I loved him’
She denied having any ill intention when she recorded the date and place of each sexual encounter from 1998 to 2001.
“I had a sexual relationship with him because I loved him. I thought our relationship was special,” said legal clerk S. Nagamah, 38, who is suing her ex-boyfriend R. Punnosamy, 40, for not marrying her.
Nagamah, who claims to have suffered shame and mental anguish, is asking for aggravated damages, exemplary damages, costs and compensation for assault.
Cross-examined by Punnosamy’s lawyer, Abdul Malik Matjudi, Nagamah disagreed that she kept the records of their sexual encounters to prevent him from “running away from me.”
”He deceived me,” she said, adding that Punnosamy had given no sign or warning during their four-year relationship that he would fail to keep his promise.
She testified that Punnosamy had slapped her when he went to her office on July 11, 2002, forcing her to seek outpatient treatment.
Punnosamy: ‘I accept her as a friend, I never said that I loved her’
During re-examination by lawyer S. Muthuveeran, Nagamah said in the Indian community, it is believed that a couple would not have a perfect marriage if the girl had lost her virginity beforehand.
“By right, a woman is to tell her would-be husband about her background before marriage. I turned down two other marriage proposals for this reason,” she said.
Punnosamy, a legal office administrator, said they were never a couple and that she was “only a friend.”
He denied that he had promised to marry her, saying it was always Nagamah who contacted him and asked him out.
Punnosamy, who had earlier denied in his testimony that he had slept with Nagamah, admitted that he had sexual relations with her “more than 20 times” but only because she had wanted it.
“I accept her as a friend, nothing else. I never said that I loved her or arranged any engagement ceremony,” he added.
He admitted that he slapped Nagamah because she had threatened his fiancée at a tuition centre in Teluk Intan.
Judicial Commissioner Mohd Azman Husin fixed Feb 6 for decision.

Ha, the girl is pathetic. She won't get anything from suing him. Worse, she is now made a pathetic slut. _________________ "It's either your ink or your brains on the contract."
No, lol, SHE went to HIS office (I think she must've nagged him to marry her) and then he slapped her. Who won't be angry that you keep track of the times you have sex just to trap him into marriage. ~_~ _________________ "It's either your ink or your brains on the contract."

Spending it like there's no tomorrow
By JAYAGANDI JAYARAJ
THIS is not the first time that the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) is spending public funds for a luxurious meeting at a hilltop resort.
There have been two other incidents prior to this. Two years ago, councillors for 2004-2006 term held a seminar in Guoman, Port Dickson.
Then, there was this 10-day working trip to South Africa nine months ago by MPS president Zainal Abidin Azim, secretary Jamri Basni and the rest of the councillors.
Over the years, there have also been outcry over the blatant misuse of public funds.
The Klang Municipal Council, for instance, created a controversy in July 2003 when RM200,000 was spent on ceremonial robes and a mace for its councillors to wear during full board meetings. Such get-togethers were also conducted in ceremonial procedures.
Council president Datuk Mohd Sharif Yusof was quoted as saying then that the new attire would “change the mindset of the councillors and the public to have a sense of self-esteem.''
On Jan 18 last year, an eight-day educational tour, booked for 10 employees of the Selangor Public Accounts Committee (PAC), was called off as it was deemed “inappropriate.'' It involved museum visits and belly dancing on a cruise along the River Nile.
After a public outcry, the tour itinerary was revised, but the trip was eventually called off when Sekinchan assemblyman Ng Suee Lim pulled out. His reason was that the itinerary had deviated from the original tour's objectives.
PAC then wanted the state government to foot the bill which had amounted to about RM74,000.
City Hall came under fire when, in June 2006, the Public Accounts Committee chairman Datuk Shahrir Samad described the Grooming and Etiquette Course for City Hall's top brass as a waste of public funds.
The expenditure amounted to more than RM94,000 and was held in a five-star hotel.
The amount included the purchase of tuxedos worth a whopping RM2,500 each.
WTF!? no cruise trips? man, i'd quit working for the government lo like that... _________________ Niah-gong!!! That deserves a slap
