Though I subscribe the package for streamyx 1 Mbps, but I found out my internet connection is just like normal dial up speed.

Are you suffering the same bad experience like me?

Go into your modem setup and check if your sync speed has been upgraded to 2048/512 although you are on the 1Mbps pkg. Then let us know what you SNR (signal to noise) and attenuation figures are like. General guidelines are that SNR should be high (>25) and attenuation low (<6 or 7)in order for the connecton to be stable. If you got low SNR and high attenuation then it means you are located quite far from the dslam and your tel line cannot support such high sync speeds. In that case call up TMNet to make fault report and when technician comes to your house insist that they sync you at a lower speed (1536 or even 1024). This will make your line more stable and you will get better performance.

Good luck!

Wink

Well, my experience was... pretty easy

make call to telekom. Ask the stupide fella set the jumper to 1Mbps for you. He did this for me after I've complaint once.

All you have to do is to tell him, "Very slow, please find it out for me, or else I will ask my friends not to use streamyx"

You cant threaten TMNet cos they are virtually a monopoly. You were lucky that things worked out for you. Can you imagine if you said, "Very slow, please find it out for me, or else I will ask my friends not to use streamyx" and they replied, "Go fly a kite", do you honestly think your friends will stop using Streamyx or for that matter will you terminate your Streamyx account? I think NOT.

hahaha!! friedice you are right. Simply because they have monopolized the market...*sigh

Many wireless providers are coming out. Actually streamyx is so much afraid those wireless product will take over them. Well, wireless market is growing and wishing one day the wireless will overtake streamyx and become personal belonging where you can carry with you.

Well, try again for the service provider. Some of them indeed very good in attitude. If somebody would have signed up for 24-month plan... tough luck and this was trick.
