|
|
Hi guys, just discovered this forum a couple days back and decided to join in the group. I am originally from Penang but has been staying here in PJ for a number of years now.
Now one of my passion is food and I have been blogging on this topic for a while now (close to 100 posts just on food alone so far) at my blog http://kyspeaks.com. I was wondering if anyone could suggest good hawker food around this area, there are probably alot of hidden gems that I haven't found out yet.
Cheers. |

Hi KY,
Read your blog before, me thinks it was pretty cool, down to earth and straight to the point. Also the wacky riddles with drawings!
I'm also looking for good hawker food around PJ, from up north also.
A friend told me that PJ State near to UOB bank there's a coffee shop that has many stalls and one of them sells white curry mee, many people go there. Have not try myself (I called prawn mee that day, which is so-so to my standard)
Hope this helps! Keep up the good blog!
Cheers! |

| I've been to that kopitiam many times and blogged about the very good roti bakar there as well. The curry mee is pretty good though I find the hokkien mee just so-so. |

This may sound heretical. I do not deny the fact that Penang food is very very good.........but the best food is from Ipoh, period!

I too wrote it as a matter of fact with no intention to offend anyone and the 1st part of your post : "my-state-have-da-best-food" vs Penang food debate." is patently untrue. Why you ask, because I am from Penang and I am saying Ipoh has the best food (Chinese food that is but seriously any kind of food from Ipoh is bloody marvellous. The standards are so high that you would never cut it as a street hawker in Ipoh if your food is crappy.).
Kota Baru, Kelantan has the best fried chicken (any style) I have ever tasted and the nasi dagang is out of this world. For Malay style food my money is on Kelantan. |

Everyone seems to love food from out-of-town! But I on the other hand would prefer food from pj. Methinks think pj is the best place for 'hawker' food. Period. _________________ Niah-gong!!! That deserves a slap |

Is there only 1 yong tau foo stall @ medan selera? If not pls give the name of the stall or may end up going to the wrong one.
I like the Hainan Chicken Rice stall @ medan selera called Kee Kie (hope I got the speling right). That chap also sells curry Sang Choo Yoke(babi hutan) which I havent yet learnt to appreciate. His chicken rice though is really bloody marvellous!

I think there's two stalls competing the yong tau foo market. Both r good. _________________ Niah-gong!!! That deserves a slap |
