Everybody wants convenience. So think food delivery would be a good solution to "lazy" & "busy" ppl out there.

What kind of delivery fee is acceptable???

There are a number of lunch/dinner deliveries to office/households in PJ. But as far as I'm concern, no delivery charge is apply.

I am not referring to western food or >MYR10/meal. Some ppl willing to pay, but I guess the market out there is quite limited. It would be niche.

Be more specific, I am interested in giving my inputs, coz I always call up lunch to my office... reason? LAZY!

Hi Jeannie,

Tks for the feedback. Since you know the PJ market well, do u know roughly how much is the meal? Is it for a monthly basis kind for 3 dishes Chinese style???

Reason I'm creating this survey is bcoz currently Healthy Meal Delivery only delivers Chinese flavour (Healthy type as in NO MSG, PORK Free, less salt, sugar & oil, high fiber & vitamins), for lunch time. So it would be good to know what the market is looking for (types of meals for different time of the day) & the willingness to pay delivery fee.

Guess your office in PJ???

Are you targeting office workers?

My area here (yes in PJ!) mostly are business ctr. There are at least 2 meal delivery services (as I known) - 1 vegetarian , another didn't try b4. I'm quite comfortable for the vegetarian, about $3-5 per set, at least 3 choice of dish. Additional rice/dishes at less than a ringgit. They dropped their menu in our office on fortnight basis. Even entertain 1 order, RM3... cheap!

Well, I don't really mind about the MSG or Pork thingie. There are health conscious ppl out there, but the market is too niche, well it may be a good selling point. But hor, if you don't have the HALAL certification, you won't be able to target Malay market. I would rather have PORK in my menu (sorry if i offended anyone) if you are targeting non-muslim.

PM me, and gib me your fax number, I can send you the menu I still keep quite some time ago.

So can I have a free lunch from you as SURVEY FEE & Competitor Intelligence Charge?

LOL !!!

Yes, office workers. Thks for the feedback Jeannie.

We're not in the economical rice segment. It's niche as you say, for people who're health conscious & appreciate the health benefits of NO MSG & organic.

Well, if you're in our order range map, wouldn't mind to give u a complimentary meal Smile

One of the problems I have with using food delivery is that most providers do not use environmentally friendly containers. It's polystyrene all the way, most of the time.

I think we need to go back to using tiffins.

Thanks for the comment Smile It's our honour to serve you, unfortunately it's not cost effective to deliver to PJ if the qty not much.

So if got 20 pax per order, can consider, as we did before for a company at Kelana Tower (30 pax) Smile

Mid Valley is also out of our area. Our central kitchen is at Cheras, Tmn Pertama. So we're now focusing on areas around Golden Triangle. Of course, as I've mentioned earlier, > 20 pax can lor Very Happy For more details on the delivery range, pls visit Orders Range Map

Yes, esp those "chap fan". However, we use a reusable mircowavable material for those who order on a monthly basis. If you're in our order range, you order once & we would be able to show you how it looks like Very Happy

Sorry jeaniie, PJ not in our coverage. As I've mentioned before, areas outside coverage need at least 20 pax to justify our delivery. But if it's under our order range, yes, 1 pax also we deliver Smile

Perhaps you can order for your friend or love ones working in our order range???

hi all, this is my first post here.

totally newbie. this topic is interesting as i've been thinking to start this delivery service as well. got some demand from few offices in Klang and KL. ever since the petrol hike, got more people requesting for delivery service. seems like they just dont bother to go out anymore

i've been doing cookies delivery service and catering but there are also got demand for lunch/breakfast delivery service. currently my main market are govt offices in pj and klang.

so might be thinnking of doing the exact thing. about 3 dishes per day, maybe change the menu everyday but let them know the menu in advance.

as for the cookies service, i mainly deliver for free for purchase above rm50. but for this lunch thng, not sure, see first how it goes. but mostly i'll try my best not to charge other than the food.

as for container, it is difficult for service provider like us to provide environmental frindly containers as it cost higher. but if u got ur own tupperware, then we can reuse it. like what we did in the cookies part, we actually pay our customers who gave us back the bottle so that we can reuse them.

so it's good to here all the comments here, from the customers' perspective, so service provider like me can learn.
