The government of the day is STILL BN.The Pakatan Rakyat states are only controlling several states. So the matter is not about giving Pakatan Rakyat the time to do their job as they are not the ones who fix the price of fuel cost.

So as citizens of Malaysia, what should we do now instead of complaining and demonstrating on the streets?
My question is rather what can Malaysians do instead of complaining about the escalating cost of food and demonstrating on the streets
goey,
im referring back to the topic..which say, "WHAT LEFT FOR SELANGOR.." (please refer to my previous post)...and not the whole country..that's why i said, give PR some time to run the states, especially selangor.Im aware bout BN is still in control of the nation. For the record, Kelantan PAS government took 5 years after gained power to withstand all that and to prove something. So, if Kelantanese can understand the transition process, why cant Selangorian do the same..but anyway, it's their rights to complaint.
The question of to demonstrate or not..is actually coming back to us..
Doesnt matter how much we gave our 'intellectual' or 'brilliant' ideas to the government , it will certainly go down the drain as it is a normal for a government (not only malaysia) to over-rule the people suggestions.Off course, our government make it worst by prioritize some group of people who actually gained something from the oil hike.(FYI, PETRONAS wont gained much from this hike..believe it?)
Im interested with one of idea which is " The See-Saw policy "
in this policy, the gov should control other items such as food price and also important services such as medical and education if, on the other hand, we cannot control the oil hike. It means, let the price of the oil go up but at the same time, make sure the price of the important goods is maintained. It is an utopian idea but it actually can work if the gov really make an effort for it. ( honestly, i think KPDN-HEP is not working)
becoz in Malaysia, the BN gov only listen to several people such as the tycoons who actually controlled the whole economy. To name the few, such as Robert Kuok ,who control the sugar. These tycoons who actually contributed so much to BN pockets and off course give so much to UMNO.
BN gov only came up with lousy and lame ideas like give increment and bonus to civil servants (which only make the inflation go worst!), pay the salary twice a month to ensure the servant wont 'membazir', (stupid idea!!) and off course the rebate for road tax( which i think the money should subsidize the food price)
i want to membebel futher bout how Malaysia actually still can have lower oil price but it's fair for u to look for it urself. If u ask frens from O&G industry ,especially PETRONAS people, u will be surprised.Read ,listen and evaluate.
so ,as a citizen what we can do? here's some options for "Good Citizen":
1) go hybrid (NGV+Petrol or NGV+Bio+Solar+petrol?)
2) take a public transport
3) get urself a bicycle to work
4)berjimat? (doesnt matter how good u 'berjimat' ,u will still loose a lot anyway)
5) Listen and accept all the government suggestions.
and here's options for 'not-so-good citizen':
1) Street Demonstration and protest and ask for truth...
i chosed to be "not-so-good citizen" because i always want to know the truth and i want my action to have significants to all my society and to all my Fellow Malaysian.Im sick and tired to be a good obedient citizen.I think that's what most of the people who will go on protest to Padang Timur this 6th July will have in mind. ...So , go figure...

However, Look at Indonesia and Malaysia. The Government consist of Majority Malay.
And Corruption is everywhere from bottom till top. And yet this people every Friday go to MOSQUE and PRAY.
Religion are Good and Sincere.
However, people that involve in corruptions give a really bad impression of being a Muslim, a person can commit Corruption and GOd still welcome them to their mosque and to heaven?
I am sorry that this might offen many people. But look at the rational point of view.
It is a disgrace for not just muslim. But for anyone that profess that they are what what religion and yet either openly or secretly take corruption widely.
So the MPPJ, MPSJ has been widely known to be corrupt and yet those bastard every Friday go Mosque to pray........
However, Look at Indonesia and Malaysia. The Government consist of Majority Malay.

I know one day, you'll raise this thing up , bro..
Im not goin to deny that.in fact ,it's true!(BRAVO YIPCK2003!!..again, u become the hero for the deppresed non-moslem in Malaysia!!)
anyway, got a little word to add ..For Indonesia " The Government consist of Majority Jawa+Madura+etc etc.." ( The Indonesian never claimed themselves as Malay, remember? The so-called Malay only exist in Malaysia...How can you forgot that, it was the Malaysian Chinese who always 'remind' the Malays about that) and btw, previous Sokaerno and Suharto is not really really a Moslem.
and for Malaysia, the exact word is " The Government consist of Majority Malay elits of UMNO..."
The Malay elits of UMNO lived in complacent and luxurious way of life since NEP.They cannot resist money that being offered and the sad part is, these UMNO elits holds top seat in public service and police force. So, do you think they are a good role model to the lower ranks?..
And i don't want to bore you with history but to answer your question on why this Moslem government is soo prone with corruption , we have to look at this country's (real) history of independence. Most of Malaysian, especially The Malay still cannot accept the fact that the British did not actually 'free' Malaya but only 'gave' this country to UMNO to keep as they are the British's right wingers a.k.a 'favourite obedient son' .
UMNO was merely a Association for the Malays founded in 1946 by the late Dato' Onn Jaafar and he never intended to make it as a political party. In 1954, he left UMNO and founded PARTI NEGARA(a communal party) for 1955 election. so,the reasons he left are:
1) UMNO members starting to drift away from its original cause : To really-really free this country from British and to form a government who follow the every facade of Islam.During T.A.R leadership, UMNO actually 'bow to the British'.
2) UMNO members become racist and reject his idea to form a communal party (open to all races, which means, any race can become PM)
3) UMNO helped British to eradicate the anti-British left-wingers such as Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya (PKMM), Angkatan Pemuda Insaf(API),Hizbul Muslimin (Present PAS) and locked them in ISA.
And i, asked this to myself since young , " Why the hell UMNO betrayed their own fellow comrades if they're also fighting for independence?"
Until i was in college, i finally got the answer:
Before releasing any of her colonies (especially Moslem countries),the British Empire will elected a 'moslem party' as a proxy to help them exterminate left-wingers reformist. This is what happened to Ikhwanul Muslimin in Egypt, Jamaat Islami in Pakistan, Pan-Islam in Jordan and many more.I think this is why most of the Islamic countries(ex-empire) are runs by corrupted government.OK, enough with history coz i know u hate history, especially relating to Malay or Islam.
Getting back to the topic, the bottom line is, if you asked why this Moslem government being so corrupted..let me just say that, this government (UMNO) have been corrupted since day one of "independence".They are the British-decoy( past, present and future) and they have betrayed the Malays and Islam for so long. So, what i am trying to say is, you shouldnt perceived the Malays and Islam just like you perceived the corrupted gov officials of this country. (Anyway, "thanks" to the Chinese tycoons like LGT,Robert Kuok,Vincent Tan etc etc who keep feeding them with money to make sure UMNO and NEP stay alive)
Actually before your raised that issue, u should ask yourself these questions:
1) Wonder why the majority of the street protestors consist of Malay moslem 'bastard'?
2) Why the majority of the revolunist who got lock up in ISA are also the malay?
3) Why the Malay Moslem populated state of kelantan change government since 1990?
well ,from what i can see..the majority who dare enough to march on the street and have balls to face those bloody UMNO's FRU are also the Malay 'bastard'.

sounds ironic when you mentioned that ,bro..i thought u r a non-believer and religions, especially Islam, is way too contradict with your progressive and rational minds. Are you really really really 'sincere' saying that?

How can the devotees of a faith can identified a person who commit corruption and stops him from entering their place of worship?Off course, the Monks,Swami, priest,Imam or even a Rabai will welcome the devotee to enter their holy places.Maybe they want to repent for the sins, right?
Anyway, It is between God and the people.I think its imply to all religions.
In Islam, even if you didnt commited any sins (such as corruption),it doesnt mean that you will straight go to heaven. This is because if you didnt try to stop the sins from happened, you are considered as 'Subahat'(alliance) with the corruptors. So, that's why you can see the majority of the protesters in BERSIH and PROTEST rally are the Malay Moslem. The joke is ,looking at Malaysia situation, we believed that most of our Ulama ,Ustaz or Imam will go to the hell first because they didnt try hard enough to warn the government about corruption.(they just too aftraid). That's why they only came up with lame issues.

Enquiry never offended anyone. No one should feel angry or mad if the question really sincere. It's just that the way to raise the issuei is important. I got no problem with your enquiry as i seems to understand your thinking but looking in different aspect it does sounds like you want to blend Islam as a "religion that promote and encourage corruption in the teachings" in a cynical way.
(Just like Namewee when he sings Negarakuku and put together Azan as a negative things in Malaysia)
U might think that i sound a lil bit denial but i gave you some roots or the cause of the scenario. You questioned and i just answer it.
