With the cheapness of GPS ( global position system ), and their smallness, why aren't all vehicles fitted with them. It could be part of the annual registration. If people are paranoid that "Big Brother" will abuse it, it could be set up to only go off when theft reported, or the unit tampered with. Makes you wonder why it isn't already law. How many police man hours would be saved ? Or is the insurance industry worried that they might loose accounts if the theft rate dropped.
