If I'm not wrong...

decrepit = very old
sailor = to do with the sea, therefore Mariner

so Ancient Mariner as in The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (original: The Rime of the Ancyent Marinere) is the longest major poem by the English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge...

Yes, you are right! Very Happy Actually there are 2 answers to this riddle and you chose the best one ie Ancient Mariner - Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The other answer is Old Man And The Sea - Ernest Hemingway.
