Not just me leh.. Chessgal is working now in Singapore also.. and her salary is way higher than malaysia in therms of figure...
Example (not her real salary).
In Malaysia, paid RM2000.00
in Sinagpore, Paid SGD$2300.00

lets do some break down of expenses between 2 countries.

In Malaysia, RM2000.00 (Take home pay after EPF = Rm1780.00

Expenses:
Room Rental: RM300.00
Transport: RM300 per month RM4 per trip (max assuming that you change bus or LRT). go and return RM8)
Telephone: RM50
Food: RM450 (RM5 per meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. total RM15 per day. Budget RM100 for good food)
Entertainment: RM100 (go for movies, etc).
Internet and phone: RM100 per month (phone rental RM27, Streamyx 77 packages..rounded to RM100 for easy calc).

Total: Rm1300.00

Left over: RM1780-Rm1300=RM480 as Savings!!

Singapore: SGD2300 (no epf deduction unless u are PR. PR deduct 5% first year, 15% 2nd year and 20% 3rd year).
Room Rental: SGD400.00
Transport: $120 per month $2 per trip (max assuming that you change bus or LRT). go and return $4)
Telephone: $30 (cheapest package plus GST with Free Mobile phone).
Food: $370 ($3 per meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. total $9 per day. Budget $100 for good food)
Entertainment: $100 (go for movies, etc).
Internet and phone: $60 (No phone rental, 6MB Package).

Total : $1080.00

If you not PR. $2300-$1080=$1220.00 as SAVINGS!!

If you are PR 1st year. $2185-1080=$1105.00 as savings!!

If you are PR 2nd year, #1955-1080=$875 as SAVINGS!!!

If you ar PR 3rd year onwards, $1840-$1080=$760 as SAVINGS!!

**** This calculation is on case senario where you don't spend much on other things on both countries.
**** This is base on basic survival requirement of a Working Graduates or Professionals.

Anyhow the left over money is still way much much MORE than in Malaysia.

This is to analyse the Living condition in Singapore is much better than Malaysia.
Housing is of course more expensive than in Malaysia.

Eventually if we convert the money back to Ringgit, it will be x 2.28. so you can imaging how much money we can save.

Of course, Chessgal and I, the salary is higher than $2300.00 (salary plus allowance) shown example above.

Plus Chessgal not only working.. she also partime importing branded bags to Singapore and Malaysia... (which selling at $150 to $400 or $500 in Singapore). So you can imaging her extra income.... Mr. Green
