Dear Moderators,
I was surprised that two of the threads that I have started and some other have been locked for no clear reason other than "trolling."
Having said this, I want to ask - What is the standard or rule on closing threads?
One reason given is that I am trolling on my latest post (in "Are Malaysians bad drivers?"). I find that a bit odd as my post does not have a hint of trolling. I did not call anybody names. It is a counter argrument but not a personal attack. It looks like a personal attack because the post to which I made a response is based on a personal attitude, to which I obviously did not agree. I don't think this is trolling.
On the thread Calling on Moderators, it was just closed all of a sudden.
I find it ironic (if not hypocritical) that the same moderator who closed all these threads once said that he/she does not agree with censorship. This is what he is actually doing with closing these threads. Not only is he censoring people, he is also repressing opinions.
I hope you, the moderators, will enlighten us on this.

Calm down Diego, calm down... Actually we had a few topics before discussing about our traffic. So too bad, I guess you need to sacrifice your thread tho..
you acknowledge and agree that we shall have the right (but not obligation), in our sole discretion, to refuse to publish or to remove or block access to any Content you provide at any time and for any reason, with or without notice.

And the reason is? I am sorry but you cannot hide behind the ambiguity of this rule. Rules like this make public forums a farce.

It is strange that only now, after months of having posted on pjnet, you find the rule to be ambiguous when it does not suit your purpose and agenda. There have been threads locked prior to yours and no doubt there will be threads up for locking in the future.
There is no ambiguity, access to the thread has been blocked (closing thread, locking thread) without notice.

What you refer to as 'closing threads' is covered in TOS 7(c) as "block access to any Content you provide at any time and for any reason, with or without notice".
There is no necessity for a "standard or rule on closing threads" as by the very fact that you are posting on pjnet means "you acknowledge and agree that we shall have the right (but not obligation), in our sole discretion, to refuse to publish or to remove or block access to any Content you provide at any time and for any reason, with or without notice." This 'understanding' is both implicit as well as explicit and ignorance is no defence in Law.

In case you did not understand my earlier reply, I asked for the reason for closing the threads that I mentioned because as the rule says you can "remove or block access to any Content you provide at any time and for any reason[/b]" I am not questioning your right to close threads. You are a moderator, you have this right. I am questioning your reason for doing so. I am a member of this community so I have the right to question you.
Anything that is not explicitly said in a rule is considered ambiguous. Very much like the rule you mentioned. For example, you can restrict access for any reason. What if you are a jilted suitor of the person who opened the thread? You will close the thread because you were spurned? This falls under "any reason."
My purpose and agenda? Hmmm. What could that be? Unlike you, I have no ambiguous rules to protect me so I cannot promote my agenda. I am just exercising my right to question you.

juandiego, didnt friedice replied you already saying that you were throlling? But you refused to acknowledge it. I would say it is normal for us human to refused to acknowledge things when we believe what we are doing is right.
I know it sounds unfair but in case you didnt notice, even yipck2003 has kept his composure all this while. I think you should know him better, if he refused to acknowledge that things has been blown out of proportion then all hell will break loose...
For heaven's sake, lets just move on. I'm sure if I or anybody else cross the line, I will be ban too. Dont you think? _________________ Goodbye my lover, goodbye my friend...

For the sake of argument, let's just say that I was indeed trolling in the thread "Are Malaysians bad drivers?". Why not just warn me? Why not just edit my post or delete it? Why do you have to close the entire thread and prevent other people from posting their opinions there? This is a public forum, right? Why would you restrict other people from posting in a thread when there is only one errant poster?
How about in the thread "Calling the Attention of Moderators..."? Nobody was trolling. There was no clear reason for closing it. It was closed right after friedice warned Yipck for posting a very offensive remark in a different thread. This actually is strange. Why warn a person in a thread where he did not post the offensive message?
I understand that if I or you or anybody crosses the line, there will be consequences. But as I have been asking, where is the line?
I am sorry but I am not the kind of person who will just sweep dirt under the rug. If you want to move on, go ahead.
