Yeah friedice, thanks for the link on DVD/VCD. Will go check it out. I don't mind buying the american drama series from Amazon.com. I bought 2 times. First time was ok. Took 10 days to come. but somehow the 2nd time it just took 20 days. I wrote to Amazon.com and they took another... i think 5 days to reply me. By then, the shipment arrived. I asked the guy. He says it was transferred around by a few courier agents. Really sickening...

Yeah, I am actually a look-see-touch person. Must go down to MPH Midvalley or Borders at the Curve. But their price no discount for the business books I bought. So... hehhe.. been checking their books and then go to Acmamall.com and Mph.com.my to check. But frankly, I think I am getting lazy. It is just so tiresome to travel out each time.

Thanks Friedice for your links. Will visit them.

But actually I have something on my mind for quite some time. If you ask me, I have no problems shopping on Amazon.com. I mean, from the reports there are so many people who buy and there isn't any problem. (Though just their shipping is so bad)

But if you talk about Malaysia retailers, you dun know who they are. I mean, will they take our money and run? Like I saw lelong.com.my, really very messy.

What would you look for when you shop online to assure you that everything is safe?

There is nothing bad about Amazon.com's shipping. On the contrary, it is excellent. The problem is that it's too bloody expensive. If you are buying a relatively inexpensive book you may find that the shipping costs more than the book itself. I no longer buy from from Amazon.com cos their shipping charges just so expensive.
For those hard-to-find out-of-print books I buy from http://www.Alibris.com. Excellent service just like Amazon.com. Also checkout http://www.Powells.com.

htt://www.Lelong.com.my doesnt sell anything. They are basically providing a common ground for its users to trade and auction stuff. Be careful as I had 2 bad experiences at Lelong. Check out the sellers (or buyers) profile. Make sure that they are getting excellent feedback for the people thay have traded with. I made the mistake of buying from someone without any feedback (a newbie) and sure enough I got burned. If you hang around Lelong long enough you will notice some sellers with something like 99.9% (out of 1000+ trades) positive feedbacks. You cant go far wrong if you buy from these dealers. They will even go out of their way to accomodate you just to maintain their impeccable record. Stay away from people with a greater then 4%-5% negative feedback on Lelong.

I prefer eBay than lelong.com.my. Lelong is not as user friendly as eBay. They cramp too many things in 1 page, and it's really not easy to find something you want, neither is it easy to sell things there compared to eBay.

That's why I stopped using Lelong. Don't like it.

aha! I am giving my opinion more as a buyer then a seller. As a buyer I think eBay would have more pitfalls for me then Lelong.

from your opinions, hmm... not into these sites then. Anyone else bought anything else online? I tried AirAsia.com and Malaysiaairlines.com. That's fine.

Books no need to touch and feel, if your friends recommend it or you read some favourable reviews about a book or its about a subject you are terribly fascinated by then you can just order it online. Why would you want to touch n feel a book b4 buying it?
