SOUL KITCHEN @ St John's Cathedral

Hello friends in PJnet... my name is Tanti.

I'm helping my friend to cook for the homeless in Jalan Gereja, KL once a month and we are using St John Cathedral's kitchen to do this. I've got PM from some friends in this forum offering services to help us and I have spoken to the organiser. But according to him it would greatly appreciated if some of you could donate foodstuff instead. Foodstuff like rice, milk, milo/coffee, sugar etc. No money please. A bag of rice would means alot to them.

Please do not PM me just to lecture on how we should not help those people. You see, I used to have the same thinking but in the end your concience will tell you what you are doing is right. God knows better, right? We are in no position to judge them, on how they end up in their position now. But some of them do change, the church help them to find a decent job. That is a reward itself. And I felt so small when they thanked us for the food we'd cooked for them..

Before they have their meal, there will be a representative from among them (every race) reciting a prayer followed by someone from other church who has turn a new leaf. Just last Thursday I was fortunate to meet a fella who has spent 19 years of his life behind bars. He spoke at the gathering and something he said strike a cord... "Dear fellow; every GOD is the same, only the phone number is different"
