I always heard my friend say he see lifeshow of malay couple have sex in the Cathay cinema in Alor Setar. The timing is always afternoon as not many ppl in the cinema. But the cinema close down liao loh...
Too bad I have no money back then, else will go see movie constantly and can see live show in the cinema..
correct, heard of that. I think Cathay was close down for some time and now back 'in-action", only malay movies and sometimes bollywood, those low cost movie, you'll see lotsa young couple in front of the cinema too...sort of "warming up" before going in.
there's another cinema (the only one having recent movies), it's in city plaza. usually, thursday evening or weekdays, you can see the couple sitting at the edge, near to the wall...it's free seat, by the way...guy's hand inside the girl's blouse and the girl is very tudung some more.
even funnier, alor star is such "malay" area, chinese dont watch chinese movie, imagine lotsa malay buying ticket...and waiting to go in. _________________ ~ it's not how much you earn, it's how much you can save. ~

Back to the story, It's about 2 guys who r bitter rival in figure skating. And there's tis unfortunate event happens when they un-intentionally sets fire onto tis game's mascot and were banned for life... Eventho, they are no longer allowed in men's single, but they decided to team up and go for team's division...

Sumolah is definitely a malay movie...But sumtime their movie consider not bad. The last movie I watched was 10 years ago where sofea jane act in it. Forgot the name already, the storyline was sort like a modern Cinderella rip-off. But it's very romantic and dramatic...
Sometime during Hari Raya, there's also tis art house movie sets in the early 80's called "pemuzik jalanan" (the title might be correct bcoz i watched it @ tv 4 years ago). Acted by tis m. nasir wid another guy dreamin of makin it big in the commercial music industry. And there was tis DIY recording studio who's willing to help them out and make them a superstar. Some of the street humor is pretty realistic, non faking and definitely creative for a movie in early 80's.
