i keep thinking and thinking today morning, what do u all think of this. if we all combine our resources to save and make money. anything we have for the day or month we post it up and see who wants them and if anyone has service or supply we go get from them and they vice versa. ok for example, my friend can do design and i can do art, so i you need artwork design or printing, i can give u in exchange for ..say if i want a something u might not want anymore, maybe your old laptop or steam iron or something, i dunno. exchange or even if i pay i may as well go to your your saloon and if you need a watch, or whatever supply just post it here and see if anyone has them. it will be like a mini group that uses each other resources instead of outside , since its something that we want to use or buy in the first place, then may as well see if we can make an exchange or just buy from here. i dunno if this sounds realistic..but i can just try by posting whatever i have and u do the same then anyone who sees it can contact u or us. ok i have branded and non branded clothes, branded watches, glasses, greeting cards, dvds, books, soft toys, plenty of accesories and earrings etc...hehe. services i have advertising, printing, art , maid service etc etc. what about you? thankss..hehe
what do u think guys and girls

That is good attempt in establishing a networking group on common grounds. Keep your expenses low. What you said is also used in the world of bartering eg Barter Vista or Barter Exchange is doing quite close to what you are doing.

Problem is : You are not going to make much money and a lot of hassle, but it is a good start to entrepreneurship.

Hi, this is Victor and I want to invite you to a Business Fair which will be held at Melia Hotel, Imbi Road (opposite Berjaya Times Square) on Saturday 04 August from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. Dressing = casual, neat ok. Free and a lot of freebies and lucky draws. Its held in the mezz floor.

I have also invited HerbyCarol and I hope she turns up as well. I do not intend to invite many people as most of them are still very immature as to their thinking etc The exhibitors are part of a group which goes thru a course which stimulates their thinking and shift their mindset to think of starting businesses with little or no money down but yet able to earn a lot.

You can come along with your friends - guys and girls ok - if you are "worried" about being "lured" to a hotel by some guy who wrote to you from the net!

Regards
Victor

Melvin, you stated :

"all i can say is that when you proclaimed that one can start businesses with little or no money down but yet able to earn a lot i can only relate it to scams.come come come.i buy everyone free lunch.want ah?ha."

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, and that is the result of past experiences and childhood experiences that the misconception that you can only make money with money, and you cannot make money with little or no money. There are a few industries/business that you can actually make money and a lot of it, but start off with little or no money.

I have so many examples of people making a lot of money with very little money . . Valerie Lim who won the Singapore Entrepreneur Award previously, started her trading business with less than 1k. She made 1.4Million. Wendy Kwek became a multi millionaire and she was featured in the "Million Makers" (means you make your first S$1Mill before age 35) started with just less than 500. Jerome Tan swung from a Bankrupt to a multi millionaire in 8 years; Juanita (Penang girl) now owns 14 properties in Penang after 10 years - she was only a clerk. Last but not least I made Sing$500k before the age of 35 with almost zero capital - less than 1k.

How did we do it? Melvin says "scam". You can consider it a scam if you take Trading of Goods (Valerie), Selling on Consignment (Wendy), Buying Properties with little money down (Juanita), Trading of Goods (me) as being scams. It is a pity because most people see the world as being a cup half empty but you should see it from the point that the cup is half full.

I know a young 28 year old girl started selling handbags and shoes with less than RM500 and she has 6 stores selling her products. Her overheads? Almost zero! How can anybody do that? Think! It is happening right here in KL/PJ. Is that a scam Melvin?

There are actually quite a few businesses/industries that anybody can start a business with little or no money. Maybe I should stop here cos I really do not fancy the idea of Melvin accusing me of promoting some "scams" again.

Melvin is like that lah, judging through all his previous posting, everything is a scam or equivalent to a scam for him lah, just get use to it you will find your life so much easier Wink

Between, i don't believe in all these kind of business get-togethers, freebies and lucky draws, i just don't fancy the way things running. No wonder Melvin categories it as a scam. ha.

LaVictor, your examples are good and people should not give up their hopes in fighting to be success with little resources... However, people want to believe you or not it's entirely their freedom... whatever you guys wanna do and participate just go ahead, as for me i would rather spend my time yam cha with my business partners and friends

PostPosted: Thu Jul 02, 2009 11:53 pm    Post subject: Business Networking Dinners etc Reply with quote

Yes, I understand his usual mode but I have to stress my points cos if I don't, all the younger people will have the misconception that it is impossible to start a biz with little or no money.

Commenting on business networking dinners . . it really depends on which angle you are coming from. For me, it was basically networking that got almost all the businesses that I have right now. I am a Singaporean living in KL and to start live etc in KL after living away from Malaysia and Singapore for quite some years, it is quite a challenge, so I depended a lot on Networking.

I attended some Rotary functions, some BNI functions, some FlatWorld functions and when I look back, ALL my current business originated from one of the above, and then it lead me to this and that etc Some Networking can be quite expensive and some are actually pretty low priced. Rotary & BNI are pretty high priced while FlatWorld is quite low priced.

Depending on which profession you are in, you may or may not find business networking beneficial. If you are in the Profit centre of a company/industry, you should definately join some networking entities unless you are in such a niche position that you do not need any assistance in affliate marketing or introductions.

Well, networking is truly important, no doubt, but i do have my very own networking channels and my very own style of making my very own business that do work nicely and comfortably... There aren't just one successful method that work in a market, there are plentiful ways that people can seek into.

Once more, thanks for your invitation but i have totally no interest in attending it. Enjoy your game. Cheers
