Sharon, asking people not to air their views on a public forum is extremely undemocratic. And trying to exclude outsiders from airing their views is doubly so, particularly as outsiders are endangered and inconvenienced by palm springs residents who clog up the roads outside You should be ashamed of yourself.

I agree with danny & tmh1973. There is no point hiding it from the public.
Also we have the freedom to share our views through the forum.

Chong,

Im not quite sure what your question is. But I suppose you're asking whether its free? Yes it is. To your other statement, yes, feel free to air your views in here, but I would think its unwise to reveal in here the shortcomings that Palm Spring has IF you are a resident there.

Danny,

To a certain extent, yes your argument is valid. However, for security (and other reasons) as well, I (on behalf of Palm Spring residents) do not want loopholes that exist at Palm Spring to be aired for all to see. Im sure that if your house had certain qualities that are lacking, you would feel the same as I and not want to shout it out to the world. Thank you for your input.

TMH,

Judge not lest you be judged. I do not think you know me well enough to say that I should be ashamed of myself. People who wish to air their VIEWS about Palm Spring I have no qualms about. However, it is the people who RESIDE/STAY/LIVE in Palm Spring and reveal shortcomings that Palm Spring has and discuss these matters in the open that I find disconcerting. Please be aware that other condos, such as Emerald in Damansara Perdana also has a PRIVATE forum. What I am advocating here is nothing new.

Sharon,

Thanks for the reply, I noticed that we need to fill up the form and pay $5 for the entrance fee and a yearly maintenance fee $10. Which part it says it is free?
I already mention my block and unit number during the first yahoo signup to the group, isn't that sufficient enough?

Sharon,

Yes I do not know you well enough to pass judgement on you. But President Bush did not have dinner with Saddam Hussain before deeming him a dictator and oppressor of human rights. I think freedom of speech is a fundamental right of all human beings. Palms springs residents should be able to air their views whenever they want, to whomever they want, wherever they want. Without Big Sister looking over their shoulder.
You have a selfish attitude and I wonder if you are one of those who double parks on the road outside, causing danger and inconvenience to others. I think this forum is great and I laud the Palm Springs residents who have been open enough to air their grievances here. In the long run, you will benefit, Sharon. Readers of this forum will know not to buy units in other developments associated with the Palm Springs development and management will finally be forced to institute those changes that you and your neighbours in palms springs have been fighting for.
Perhaps you should get together with my old friend Skeve. He too seems to think that oursiders haven't a right to comment on palm springs.

Chong,

Oh, I think you misunderstood Wink In order to be a member of the Yahoo Forum, it is FREE. You only need to provide your unit number, which will then be validated/approved by the Moderator.

The RM15 that you are talking about is actually the joining fees for the Residents Association. Renewal is RM10 yearly. Happy to hear that you're (hopefully!) joining! Smile

TMH,

Well, we're neither Bush nor Saddam are we? Smile You may not have read my last post properly. I am trying to DISCOURAGE residents frm airing their dirty laundry in public, thats ALL. And why are you using insults here, all you are HARPING and harping about is the parking issue. Its irrelevant in my post. And oh, I wonder if you're actually reading things CORRECTLY. Let me refer you to an opthamologist friend of mine, I hear he's pretty good Wink

" He too seems to think that oursiders haven't a right to comment on palm springs."

When oh when did I mention in my post that outsiders do not have a right to comment on Palm Spring?

I'm not gonna get into one of your childish squabbles again. For one who advocates freedom of speech I suppose you can go on ranting in here. I'll just sit back and enjoy the show. I wont reply to your childish replies any more. Toodles! Laughing

Debating is childish, huh?

Note that your fellow residents do not seem to think so.

Also, when things do not go your way, your response is to shut up and call the other person names?

Now, who is the childish one?

toodles to you too.....

Posting issues (good or bad) is healthy as it enlightens the public. Bad news won't stop ppl from buying apts coz everyone has a budget. If I wont pay RM260k for rundown 1-sty house in PJ, I'd still buy a apt/condo.

Shit happens! We have to protect our homes and in meantime build a strong community to improve the place. It won't improve overnite, 3 years if lucky, less if most owners cooperate.

My condo collects RM20 per year for RA membership but majority wont pay. When problems happen they complain the most.

For tmh1973,
Sorry for my harsh words in few previous pages. btw, i felt flaming in forum is very childish.

Ok, the parking issues. I do appreciate what the management has done to us (Just a part of it). At least, the palm spring residents do not park their car in visitor car park. Now, the visitors do have a place to park when they come to visit. But the way they implement is wrong, they should not charge the parking fee on visitors. It should be have other ideas better than this. I know my friends’ apartment/condo are using this tactic. Every visitor must come to the security guard to sign on something to extend his parking time every 3 hours. If failed to do it, starting charge his parking fee. I think this is better than start charging rm1 for each hour after 2 hours. At least this can prove this man is visitor not palm spring resident.

From what I know, every house is entitled one car park, right? At least my house is come with a car park. I have seen someone complain the car park is not enough in the palm spring, but I do notice there have plenty of car park lots. But why still have people complain? It doesn’t make sense, from the time a people sign the contract, he should know one apartment/condo only have one car park (I know there have some exceptional case), if wants more, go buy/rent one for the additional car.

A lot of apartment/condo will have a lot of cars parking outside the apartment/condo. I think the reason is those people do not want to waste the money to spend on the extra car park. Right?

If anything wrong in my statement, please point it out. This is my own opinion.

Skeve,

apology accepted. my apologies too for the comments on your name. we flamed each other real good huh? Wink but flaming, whilst childish, can be fun and should not be taken too seriously.

what we need is serious debate, which Sh@r0n doesnt seem to be able to accept.

i agree with your previous post. the trouble, i think, begins when units are rented out 4-5-6 people, all of whom have cars. i too cannot think of a solution to your parking woes. and it is very frustrating for me too, given that i was almost crushed by a garbage truck once because people were double parked.

i am starting to accept that people will park illegally outside but i do wish that people would not double park (making the road 1 lane only for 2 directions) because it makes the road very dangerous for outsiders and palm springs residents like you, skeve, who have a parking space inside the condo. but we can only control ourselves and not others, right?

Cars parking outside has become like a common culture that sure will happend at most of the condo/apartment. Actually I have no comments on the car parking outside, cuz not everyone can afford such expensive car park.

but anyway, just an advice for palm spring resident. try to save on other expense and rent a car park. I have seen one car's tyres which parked outside has get stolen....

those security guard only responsible for what happen in palm spring not outside. there has no guarantee fro your safety....remember the rob case was happened outside palm spring when the owner go get his car at 6.00am and at the end, it becomes rape case.....

I did notice the security guard has improved, at least now I can see got guard patrol in the car park....not outside oh.

I just felt sad that the persatuan having a war with the management....Yesterday I went back to my house, I noticed a childish wrote 'bull shit' on the paper which given by the management and slipped into the notice board. omg, what a childish action. can't he just stand out and have a proper discussion.

Anyway, I do really like there have someone from the persatuan can get in here to discuss all these matters and hope the management can notice this topic too.....

You know, u dont realli need Residents Association to prove a point. The managements is running a business with the condo/apt, thus one of the gentler option is to involves more coverage such as media ( newspapers, mags etc. ) , get broadcast and use ur consumer rights.

If your money and saftety at stakes, and the management doesnt give a dam* about your pleas, go fo harsher option -

The harsher option is to get your choices of support from the management is by law action, Tribunal of Complains is a good place to start. Or for the richies bring ur lawyers and 'make a scene' Twisted Evil

arent they ( lawyers ) usefull...

I like to talk but lazy to take action....that's why everytime the persatuan have any gathering, I will skip it....at this moment, I'm quite satisfy where I live. Maybe I'm too naive on this....or I do not know much of the bad things at the back....
