Period pain - I will take 1 small bar of chocolate or drink 1 cup hot chocolate. The pain will go off slowly.

Most suggestions here are over-the-counter or immediate solutions to reduce the pain, which may not be effective for longterm health.

In fact, the best way is to take care on daily dietary and you'll have lesser pain when menstruating. You need to know which type of food will increase your pain.

The dietary I'm referring is not food/drink you taken during your menstrual, but long term wise. The most common food that can increase your menstrual pain include, Tea + Watermelon + Pineapple + Greenbeans dessert + Sago + Cold drinks , etc etc etc. Of course we all have different body needs, so you have to trial & error on which food is consider 'sensitive' to you, and therefore you may need to limit your intake on certain food.

Taking painkiller to control your menstrual pain is definitely not good for the body.

Menstrual pain should subside by 3rd day of menstruating. If the pain is unbearable, please seek professional help and have regular Pap Smear & body checkup.

the best is to get a check up with your doctor and make sure there's nothing wrong with you
diseases like fibroid, endometriosis and tumour can cause pain during menses
only then you may consider traditional treatment or painkiller, don't be too scared to see the doctor although sometime meeting a gynaecologist can be a bit unpleasant experience
better be sure than never.....
